Of course it had pomegranate, not sure what else. There were green sugar sprinks on the glass with a strawberry garnish. It was awesome!

Hey Guys and Gals. Here is a great spin on a favorite martini. I've come across feta cheese stuffed olives. Try it!

2 parts GG vodka
1 part olive juice
2-3 Feta stuffed olives
swirl a touch of vermouth in the glass and discard.

enjoy!

The feta olives are packed in olive oil and when they hit the vodka the oil adds flavor and the feta cheese becomes creamy in the martini, also adding flavor.

Feta is betta!

Andy wrote :

Lynn asks what is a "part" It depends on how many drinks you're mixing. For one martini start with 3 ounces of gin and 1 ounce of vermouth. That's 3 parts gin to 1 part vermouth. I prefer mine at 8 to 1.

The Departed is one of my favorite new films and is nominated for an Oscar in 2007. In honor of the movie, Tequila Tezón created The Departini. It's a stunning cocktail of Tezón's spectacular reposado tequila and Martell Cognac with the addition of citrus from Cointreau and agave nectar for a sweetner. I can gaurantee you'll thoroughly enjoy this Martini.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 parts Tequila Tezón Reposado
* 1 part Martell Cognac
* 1 part Cointreau
* 1 Tbsp agave nectar
* squeeze of lime juice
* lemon wedge for garnish

PREPARATION:

1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
2. Shake well.
3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

george wrote :

Babel, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is one of the 2007 Oscar nominees and in honor of the film Kahlua created this creamy cocktail. It's actually a brand specific copycat of the White Russian, the Babel- On the Rocks distinguishes itself by using the luxury vodka, Stoli Elit. Invite friends over for a pre-Oscar dinner and serve them Babel-On the Rocks for dessert while watching the red carpet arrivals.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 parts Kahlua
* 1 part Stoli Elit
* 2 parts half & half

PREPARATION:

1. Pour the Kahlua and vodka into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.
2. Float the half & half on top.

george wrote :

* Babel-On the Rocks- The film Babel, starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is a complex thriller about a married couple vacationing in the Moroccan dessert. The drink is a refreshing variation of the White Russian.
* The Departini- The Departed falls in line with many of Martin Scorsese's previous, equally brilliant films and has an all-star cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson. The cocktail is just as thrilling; with tequila, Cognac, Cointreau and agave nectar.
* Royal-Tea- Drama at it's max, with the sophistication of the English Crown. The Queen is a captivating tribute to how the two leaders of one nation handled the catastrophic events of Princess Di's death. Helen Mirren gives a brilliant portrayal of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her counterpart, Tony Blair, is played by the talented Michael Sheen. Of course, nothing would pay tribute to this movie other than "a spot of tea" and in the drink, Earl Grey plays nicely with gin.
* Sunshine in Malibu- Little Miss Sunshine was one of the funniest films released last year and it's no wonder considering the cast that is led by the ever-hilarious Greg Kinnear with help from Alan Arkin, Steve Carrell and Toni Collette. But we must not forget the "Sunshine" herself, the 10 year-old Abigail Breslin. The cocktail is as bright and shiny, filled with citrus and two flavors of rum.

The ginger vodka question...

Ginger goes great with peach - try it with Peach Schnapps perhaps and a splash of jusice to cut the alcohol. Ginger also goes great with chocolate... so perhaps use it in a sweet chocolate martini recipe and coat the glass with some Hershey's syrup first (in a swirl).

Best Lemon Drop Martini recipe:
equal parts of each -
Lemoncello - Sour mix - Absolute Citron
Lemon slice for garnish on a chilled sugar rimmed martini glass -- one is great - watch the second one as it sneaks up on you later without realizing it!!! Enjoy!

It's interesting noting the proportion of gin vs. vodka martinis as I grew up thinking that gin was the martini standard and vodka had to be requested.

Personally I do not care for the taste of drinking little pine trees and prefer my ketel dirty, with big fat olives and a faint vapor trail of vermouth...

Vanilla/Caramel Apple-Tini

1 part apple juice

(this goes on the bottom of the glass)
Liquor 43 (splash)
caramel sauce
(you can get this by the ice cream or melt down some caramel candies)
Sour apple hard candy
(for garnish recommended: Jolly Rancher)
Apple peel curl, for garnish

Pour vanilla vodka, Schnapps and apple juice into a cocktail shaker with ice. Get chilled martini glass and you can do a couple things for garnish... I like using a squirt bottle and inside the glass just going from the bottom to the rim while turning the glass so you get a pretty swirl of caramel.If you dont have that ,Drop the sour apple candy in each glass then spoon a little bit so it hits the bottom of the glass and buries the candy...then top with a bit of liquor 43...its a nice surprise when you finish.garnish with a curl of apple peel.
