Traveling with Pets

January 25, 2007

Pet friendly hotels and ingenious new carriers are making it much easier for us to take our furry children with us. Share your tips for traveling with pets. Know the best way to take a cat on a plane? Ever taken a dog through customs? What's a good cleaner for the car when Peanut looses it in the back seat? You've been there, so spread what you've learned. Now the rest of us will know what to do the next time Whiskers has a panic attack and won't come out of the fold-up sofa bed in the Disney hotel suite.

We've driven across the country four times with our two 70lb Sharpei. AAA books generally show which hotels will accept pets - you still need to contact the hotel directly to verify the pet policy. Many www.starwood.com and www.marriott.com properties allow pets of all sizes.
