Black Friday Online

For the first time in my life, I have most of my holiday shopping finished before Thanksgiving. Believe me, I'm not bragging. I'm usually one of the desperate hoard storming through stores the week before Christmas, convinced the perfect gift is still out there. But I have never had a sufficiently hearty constitution to head out on Black Friday.

This year Amazon is promising to gather up the online deals and list them all in one place. You can score major bargains while wearing flannel pajamas and eating cranberry sauce sandwiches. I'll see you there.

PS -- I'm thrilled with Amazon's frustration-free packaging movement. Any time I have a choice I'm going to go with the item that doesn't make me want to tear my hair out AND make me feel personally responsible for global warming.

Fondue Sets

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Tipton searches high and low for unique, amusing or clever products to improve your life. Her network of family and friends are always getting emails with new information about this pair of scissors or that new leaf blower. Those suggestions eventually made it all the way to HGTV's MarketPlace, where she writes a daily blog of her great finds. Her personal shopping philosophy is that the best find is the one you never knew you needed until you saw it.

Jillian

Jillian St. Charles is the director of HGTV online. She thinks the search for the perfect gift is one of the best parts of any holiday, birthday, or special occasion. Thanks to the internet, it has been years since she has had to circle endlessly looking for a mall parking spot. Her shopping philosophy is that it's better to buy nothing than to buy the wrong thing.

Melanie

Her personal shopping philosophy is that if you wait long enough, it will go on sale — but if you really, truly must have it, don't delay.
